Parents in Parkland County will soon be able to view their child's COVID-19 test results online.

Parents with children in Parkland County will soon be able to get their child's COVID-19 test results online.

Currently, Albertans who are 14 years of age or older can sign up to see their results if they didn’t register for a phone or text alert after they’ve gone for a test, but those under the age of 14 are not able to sign up at the moment.

That’s about to change, according to Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health during her daily briefing earlier this week.

"Work is absolutely underway," said Dr. Deena Hinshaw. "We recognize this would be a value for parents and for those children."

The change will also help speed up the process of delivering results quickly, but it's not clear when the change will take place.

Parents also have the option to sign up for text message alerts to see their child’s test results.
