After a successful pilot program last month, COVID-19 testing in pharmacies will be expanded across Alberta.
If you’re at your local pharmacy in the future, you’ll have the option to get a COVID-19 test.
The province announced yesterday that after a successful pilot program last month, testing in pharmacies will be expanded across Alberta.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said anyone in the community can go for a test, but not all pharmacies in the province will offer it as the program is voluntary.
The province tested over 10,000 people in the pilot project in June.
All of the new pharmacy tests would involve a throat swab instead of the traditional nose swab.
