Final commission report calls for big shakeup.
Yesterday, the Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission provided their final report on proposed ridings for the 2019 election, with some major changes in store for the Tri-Region area.
Spruce Grove-Stony Plain would become a riding, doing away with Spruce Grove-St.Albert. St. Albert itself is partitioned three ways in the report, while major chunks land formerly in the Stony Plain riding are used to form the new Lac St. Anne-Parkland.
The report has been submitted to the legislative assembly Speaker but must still be considered by MLAs. Additionally, the report's findings can be used fully or in part.
