Police are warning the public about a new scam targeting senior citizens in the Parkland area.

Police are warning the public about a new scam targeting senior citizens in the Parkland area.

The victims of the scam will receive a call from a man claiming to work for their bank. During the conversation he will convince the victim to withdraw $3000 in cash from their account, give him their lisence plate information, and meet at the Stony Plain Safeway. Once there, he walks up to the victim's car and takes the cash in a bag from the victim.

The suspect is described only as an older Caucasian male, and there is no more information on him at this time. Anyone with more information on the suspect or scam is urged to call Parkland RCMP, or CrimeStoppers if they wish to stay anonymous.
