Parkland RCMP have arrested three people after a report of a car in a ditch led to drug, theft and weapons charges.

Parkland RCMP have arrested three people after a report of a car in a ditch led to drug, theft and weapons charges.

On September 29, police arrived on scene near Acheson where a car was stuck in a ditch, along with three passengers. After the incident, an investigation was launched and found that the car had been stolen, and contained large amounts of cocaine and meth, along with bear mace.

Police arrested Kayla Johnson and Madison Ward of Maskwacis, and Verne Johnson of Edmonton on multiple charges, including possession of a weapon, drug trafficking, and possession of stolen property.

Ward and Kayla Johnson were released by police on recognizance, while Verne Johnson will appear in Edmonton provincial court today for his second hearing.
