Months long investigation yields results for local RCMP.
Over the last few months, the Spruce Grove/Stony Plain/Enoch RCMP have been investigating several files related to property crimes across the Tri-Region, and on December 19th the investigation led to the arrest of 26 year old Mitch Sydlowski of Parkland County.
While working with the Edmonton Police Service in a stolen vehicle investigation on December 15th, Sydlowski was sought in connection but police helicopters and canine units were unable to locate him at this time. A few days later, on December 19th, the RCMP Serious Crimes Unit focusing on Crime Reduction in the area was able to locate Sydlowski at a Spruce Grove residence.
Sydlowski fled police, but was apprehended with the assistance of police dogs and taken into custody. In connection to multiple investigations, Sydlowski faces the following charges:
- Possession of Stolen Property x10
- Failure to Comply x6
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of Break and Enter Tools
- Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
Sydlowski will face the charges in Stony Plain Provincial Court on January 3rd, 2018.
