Pair charged with animal cruelty

Charges relate to starving horses on Parkland County property

RCMP have charged a two people in an animal cruelty investigation in Parkland County.

Evansburg police led the investigation after hearing reports of horses being mistreated and starved on a nearby property.

48-year-old Patricia Lynn Moore was arrested on Friday, and charged with three counts of causing unncessary pain, suffering, or injury to animals.

This morning, police announced that 50-year-old Ross Andrew Atkinson was also arrested and facing the same charges as Moore.

Both were released on bail, and are set to be back in court on January 14.

No other details of the neglect were provided.
