One Man Arrested After Attempted Stop of Stolen Vehicle

The accused collided with a police car before being taken into custody.

One man has been arrested following a proactive crime reduction patrol by Stony Plain RCMP.

On February 12th at 1:20 a.m., RCMP Officers observed a stolen vehicle leave an area at a high rate of speed. The police then attempted to perform a complete traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle lost control and struck the passenger side of the police car causing extensive damage to the vehicle. No one was injured in the incident.

Stony Plain RCMP then charged Jaydin Cuvilier, also known as Jaydin Tonery, with numerous offences including;

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Being Pursued by a Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon.

Cuvilier will appear in the courts on February 28th.
