A man is facing multiple charges, including fleeing from a peace officer and possession of Methamphetamine, after an incident in Stony Plain last week.
Parkland RCMP have arrested a man after he fled from police last week.
Early in the morning on Wednesday, February 5th in Stony Plain, Police were patrolling and located a vehicle being driven by Alexandre Carriere, a well known offender. Carriere was under 24 hour house arrest, and officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but he fled. They did not pursue Carriere due to him being known to flee from police and due to potential danger to the public.
Police later located Carriere and apprehended him.
Carriere is facing multiple charges, including:
- Flight from a peace officer
- Failure to comply with release order condition (x3)
- Drive while unauthorized (Traffic Safety Act)
- Possession of Methamphetamine
He is first appearance in court is today (February 12). In addition to those charges, Carriere has outstanding warrants from a previous incident on September 21, 2019. Those charges include:
- Impaired operation
- Operation while prohibited
- Dangerous operation
- Flight from peace officer
- Mischief over $5000
- Drive uninsured motor vehicle on highway
He will appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court for these charges on February 26, 2020.
