Tips include staying bright and travelling in groups
As many eager young ones are ready to fill their bags with candy in less than a week, local RCMP groups would like to give tips to make sure everyone has a great Halloween.
Cst. Megan Purton is with the Stony Plain RCMP and says unwrapped candy should be considered unsafe to eat for any child and parents should be inspecting their candy bags, she added, to make sure costumes are able to be seen and kids stay on the sidewalk.
Purton says trick or treating alone could poise a threat as well.
When houses have their lights off kids should be reminded to not knock on their doors.
