Local RCMP Arrest A Man For Animal Cruelty

Stony Plain RCMP have arrested one male for abusing numerous dogs in the parking lot of a local business.

On February 25th, local RCMP responded to numerous complaints of a male physically abusing numerous dogs with a hard plastic PVC pipe in th parking lot of a local business.

When they arrived, RCMP members were able to locate and arrest Garry Owen.

Five Golden Retrievers were also seized by Parkland County Enforcement. They have since been examined by a veterinarian and are healthy and safe.

Owen has been charged with two counts of Injuring or Endangering Animals.

He has since been released from custody with conditions to not be alone with animals. He is expected in court on March 7th.
