Around noon, fire crews were on the scene of a house fire on St. Andrews Drive
Both Stony Plain and Spruce Grove Fire Departments were able to react quickly to a house fire in Stony Plain.
Around noon, Stony Plain crews received an alert from a house alarm on St. Andrews Drive indicating a fire. When they arrived there were no signs of smoke until they noticed it coming out the back of the residence. Deputy Fire Chief for the Stony Plain Fire Department Nolan Jespersen explained how they proceeded with the blaze saying, "we proceeded to an offensive strategy and initiated an initial attack and called in for a couple extra resources, Spruce Grove Fire responded to assist as well, and we had an initial knockdown within the first couple minutes".
Jespersen estimated the fire took roughly five minutes to get under control in their initial knockdown.
Crews also completed a primary search and identified nobody was home at the time of the fire.
The blaze was contained inside and crews were able to extinguish it before it spread to other houses in the area.
They are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
