Local candidates from five political parties met last night and spoke in front of an audience for an election forum at the Heritage Park Pavilion.

The Green Party's Cass Romaine, Conservative Party's Dane Lloyd, Tyler Beauchamp of the People's Party, the Liberals' Ronald Brochu and Ernest Chauvet of the Christian Heritage Party all spoke at the forum. The evening started with each candidate speaking shortly about what ideals are important to their platform, before opening up a Q&A with the audience.

Abortion, budget balancing, education and carbon tax were among the issues discussed at the forum. The public question and answer period lasted over a hour, and covered a broad range of topics as the candidates spoke on their plans and their opinions on how the other parties are handling the issues.
