According to a representative with Alberta Transportation, the Highway 779 rehabilitation Project is now officially 70 percent complete. However, the project is projected to be completed in Fall of 2020, a three year construction timeline rather than the proposed two years.
Weather, traffic accommodation, road closures and detours were cited as some reasons why the project is delayed. Some components of the project include paving, illumination, and addition of new lanes and a pedestrian trail, among others.
