Most golf courses in Alberta have seen a spike in new golfers taking up the game.
While the pandemic has brought a number of sports to a halt, golf courses have seen a boom.
That's partially due to those who haven't teed it up since last season and want to get out of the house while doing something in a safe environment.
Stony Plain Golf Course Executive Professional Jeff Cuthbertson says this season has been busy, but golfers are doing their part and following the new guidelines.
"Between our membership and our general public, we've got a ton of signage out. I think people are getting used to the fact that they have to use sanitizer and have to be aware of their spacing."
Almost all courses in the province have seen a jump in rounds played this summer and expect it to continue till the end of the season.
Tee sheets are expected to fill up by tomorrow for the long weekend.
