Go Fund Me launched for Entwistle explosion victim

Kody Richter remains in critical condition

A woman from Stony Plain has set up a Go Fund Me page to support a man who's in critical condition, after an explosion at a wood pellet plant in Entwistle.

It happened at Pinnacle Renewable Energy early Monday afternoon, and saw Kody Richter get airlifted to hospital in serious condition.

Laura Schneider says she was with Kody's girlfriend Katie Richardson, when she got the horrible call.

"I work with Katie, and she got the call on Monday that there was an explosion at her boyfriend's workplace. It was pretty shocking, and she wasn't able to continue working, of course, she had to deal with that family emergency," she said.

"Since the seriousness of the incident has become more apparent, she hasn't been able to come in all week."

Currently, Richter is still unconscious in the intensive care unit, as doctors treat a serious head injury, along with fractures to his wrist and vertebrae.

Schneider says she's launched the fundraiser to help them through this difficult time.

"It'll go straight to the family - a lot's still up in the air, just in terms of his recovery, and when both of them will really be able to get back to work and back to normal life."
