Large items can be collected during regularly-scheduled curbside pickups on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Town of Devon will be running its yearly large item pickup this week.
Residents can dispose of large household items through normal curbside pickup both Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The service will take place at 7 a.m. on the regularly scheduled pickup days.
Each household is limited to four large items, including most appliances, furniture, and gas-powered yard equipment that has been completely drained. Items that will not be collected range from electronics, to hazardous waste, to any piece over six feet tall or weighing over 200 pounds.
The town’s recycling depot will be waiving the user fees for items that were not taken through pickup until May 18 for residents who can drop them off themselves.
You are urged to ensure you have one meter between large items and garbage carts and that items you do not want removed are completely seperate from the collection area or clearly labeled with “do not collect". The town says items placed in garbage bags outside of a waste cart or closed containers that can't be identified will not be picked up.
