Dangerous driver arrested with stolen truck

Jonathan Sacrey to appear in St. Albert court

A St. Albert man is facing multiple charges after a scary incident over the weekend.

At about 1:00 Sunday morning, police got word of a potentially drunk driver on St. Albert Trail, who was found in a Dodge Ram pickup heading west on Villeneuve Road, into the Northridge neighbourhood.

When an officer trailing in a police truck activated its lights, the driver pulled a U-turn and rammed his truck into the police vehicle.

The damage from the crash left the truck undriveable, and sent the suspect running away from the road.

He was arrested soon after in a nearby backyard.

Neither driver was injured in that crash, though both vehicles had significant damage.

A check of the Ram truck found it had been stolen in Stony Plain, with several knives, drugs, and stolen ID also inside.

34-year-old Jonathan Sacrey is being held in jail, and will appear in court on Monday.
