First official population count since 2015
Starting next week, the Town of Stony Plain will carry out a municipal census.
It's the first one since 2015, and will run between May 1st and June 12th.
Each household will be sent a unique PIN that can entered online at stonyplain.com/census to complete the process.
As well, Town enumerators will be going door to door between May 15th and June 12th to give people a chance to get it done in-person.
Along with using the data to better understand the community and its growing population, the cenus allows for more accurate funding from provincial and federal grants that are tied to population.
The Town says all data collected is confidential, with the compiled results set to be presented in the fall.
