Alberta RCMP are stressing to the public the importance of wearing a seat belt at all times, no matter how long the drive is. They also are reminding parents to put their children under six years old in carseats, and that kids under 13 are safest riding in the back seats.

In Alberta in 2018, RCMP issued over 5,800 occupant restraint tickets.
