Second Albertan dead due to COVID-19, total infected at 358

An Albertan woman has died in Calgary and there are 57 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the infected toll to 358.

An Albertan woman has died in Calgary and there are 57 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the infected toll to 358. 

A woman in her 80's has died in the Calgary area last night at the McKenzie Towne Continuing Care Centre in Calgary. She developed symptoms on March 22nd and passed on March 23rd. One staff member and two other residents have tested positive. There are eleven other residents with symptoms getting tested currently, the source of the infection is unknown.

Cases have been identified in multiple Alberta zones including;

  • 214 cases in the Calgary zone
  • 86 cases in the Edmonton zone
  • 20 cases in the North zone
  • 28 cases in the Central zone
  • Eight cases in the South zone
  • Two cases where the zone is still under investigation
