Three teens charged after assault in Spruce Grove schoolyard

All three knew the 16-year-old victim

Three teenagers are facing charges after jumping another boy at a school in Spruce Grove.

It happened over the weekend at about 10:45 Saturday night, when police were called after the 16-year-old had been robbed, hit with a banned gun, and stabbed.

He's since been released from the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.

Two 19-year-olds and one 14-year-old were arrested, and are each facing five charges related to the attack, ranging from aggravated assault to unauthorized gun possession.

The 14-year-old will appear in Stony Plain Youth Court, and can't be identified because of his age.

Vincent Whitford from Edmonton and Jonathan Dixon from Alberta Beach will be in Stony Plain court on November 21.

Police say all three of them knew the teenager they attacked.
